Devizes Rotary at the Bath Men’s Walk
The Devizes Rotary cooking team were in action in the cold and snow at the Bath Men’s Walk last Saturday. Here’s a note from from Emily Knight, the organiser of the event:
Hi Alan and all the team
Thank you SO much for all your help at the Bath Men’s Walk on Saturday. We certainly dodged a bullet in terms of the snow settling and thank goodness the walk wasn’t on Sunday!
I’ve had such fantastic feedback from the walkers saying how delicious your food was and I can’t thank the Rotary Club of Devizes enough for your incredible generosity, support and hard work.
We had 541 walkers sign up in the end and what a day it was with pints, Mexican outfits, Irish hats, flat caps, banter, rugby and such an amazing team spirit.
Last year the Bath Men’s Walk raised over £60,000 (split 50/50 between the two charities) and we’re hoping to reach that again this year. How wonderful that you and the walkers all did something so positive to not only help Dorothy House’s patients, families and carers but also raise vital funds for the Bath Rugby Foundation to enable them to empower young people to succeed in the community, using rugby to improve Health, Education, Employability and Inclusion in the South West.
What a team of absolute legends you are, and I really hope you warmed up ok afterwards!!!
