Talk by Alzheimers Support

A couple of weeks ago Devizes Rotary were delighted to hear a talk given by two visitors from the Alzheimers Support organisation, namely Tina Perryman and Diane Barkham. Tina is one of the nine Dementia Advisers in Diane’s team, and, as well as covering  Devizes, she is also responsible for the Marlborough, Ramsbury and Lavington areas.

They explained the terrific work that Alzheimers Support do including providing Daycare Services where people living with dementia can spend a a full day out in a supportive, stimulating environment. The  Devizes Sidmouth Street Club for example provides such an environment, and activities include Movement for the Mind Devizes and the Living Well discussion group.

Alzheimers Support also provide a Support at Home service to help people to enjoy social contact and to continue to pursue their interests while family carers can take a well-earned break.

Thanks again to Tina and Diane for coming to talk to us about the crucial work that they, and the rest of the Alzheimers Support team do. For further information please go to https://www.alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk
