Devizes Rotary organise a Paella Party in support of the Nestling Trust

Through Devizes Rotarian Geoff Collins, Devizes Rotary have been looking for some time at ways we could support The Nestling Trust,  a Charity established in Devizes  to provide destitute children in Nepal with a secure and loving home in the Nepalese village of Sarangkot.

Geoff came up with the idea of running a Paella Party in support of the charity, and so at the end of last month that’s just what happened when around 50 people attended an event which took part at Mike Judy Gaiger’s house in Little Cheverell (Mike is a Trustee of the Trust).

After the event Mike wrote:

Dear Geoff, Jackie, Alan & Colin. Thank you so much for the feast last Friday. Everyone enjoyed it – we had nothing but the highest praise for the food.

The other great news is that even before the event, over £1,000 had been raised for the Trust, which, as well as building the home in Sarangkot, will also provide the children with health care and an education, and give them the opportunity to learn skills such as tailoring, computer technology, farming, food preparation etc necessary for attaining jobs in the future.

The Trust also supports programmes to provide basic health care and health education to villagers in the remote areas of Nepal.
