An evening at The Springfields Academy

capture3A number of club members enjoyed an evening at The Springfields Academy recently. The evening started with the official opening of some new toilets and shower rooms by School Governor Dr David Stevens, before we toured the rest of the Academy buildings.

It was then over to the canteen to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our very own Colin Lugg and his staff.

After dinner, School Governor Victoria Nye talked about the role of Givernors at the school, then Rotarian Geoff Collins ran a very successful auction and raffle, which included a voucher from the Rotary Club of Devizes for a Paella Party for up to 25 people which went for £300!

Thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable evening, and for helping to raise some much needed funds for the school.

Best wishes

Rotary Young Chef 2017 District 1200 Final

The Final of the Rotary Young Chef District 1200 Competition took place a couple of weeks or so ago, with the Devizes Area being represented by Elizabeth Woodward from Lavington School.

Although Elizabeth wasn’t chosen to go through to the Regional Final, she once again cooked brilliantly, and did herself, her family and the Devizes Area proud, so well done Elizabeth!

Below are some ‘photos from the event.

Best wishes
