Roast Tatos in aid of Alzheimers Support

The Devizes Rotary food team were in action again earlier this month at Trowbridge Park where we served up lots of roast potatoes in cones to crowds attending the Alzheimer Support Fun Day.

The inaugural event was first scheduled to take place in May but had to be postponed due to bad weather. However the sun shone down in abundance this time and we had many visitors to the stall including Linda Self, mayor of Trowbridge, and John Craig who was the show’s compere.

This was also the inaugural outing for the club’s marquee, which behaved impeccably when it was loaned to the event organisers to use as their refreshments tent.

A great time was had by all, particularly by our neighbours on the tombola stall who were a little raucous at times … 🙂

Rotary SuperChoir Plaques presented to participating schools

Following the huge success of the recent Rotary SuperChoir event, the Rotary Club of Devizes who organised the event have been presenting each of the 11 schools which took part with commemorate plaques.

Amy Becker-Wrench, Head of Chirton Primary said “A huge thank you to the Devizes Rotary Team for all your hard work in making Rotary SuperChoir such a wonderful event. It was an incredibly special thing for us all to be part of at Chirton, and something we shall remember for a long time to come!”
